Wee Angel Wear History
After spending 40 years in nursing, 18 of those in the Neonatal
Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Jo Lovig decided to create appropriately
sized garments for low-birth-weight infants. While enjoying
her hobby of sewing doll clothing, she realized that many premies
are
no larger than dolls. She combined her sewing skills and NICU knowledge
to design Wee Angel Wear Wraps and Sleepers. While working as a
R.N., in the neonatal setting, Jo needed to keep the monitor
leads and monitor wires secure when caring for
premature infants. Jo also knew from experience that the materials
needed to be very soft, yet durable without the use of Velcro.
With Wee Angel Wear designs, the tiniest premature babies can
be comfortable and warm in a well-fitted garment. NICU staff
can be
confident that the garments reduce stress on
the infants by providing easy access to dressing and cares.
The ingenious designs maintain
monitor leads placement and allow monitor wires to exit through
the sides of the garment. Wee Angel Wear designs are easy
to launder and remain soft and comfortable through many washings.
Because
special needs and at-risk babies may need monitoring after
discharge from the hospital, Wee Angel Wear expanded
the size selection
to include newborns and babies up to 9 lbs. as well as
premature infant sizes. In the hospital or at home, Wee Angel
Wear
provides easy-care, easy-access garments for all special
needs infants.
Wee Angel Wear is a woman-owned, Targeted
Small Business. Wee Angel Wear Sleepers are Patent Pending.
